ANDREW PHYSICAL THERAPY STAFF
JOHN KENNEDY, DPT
(DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY, CERTIFIED STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SPECIALIST, BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION CERTIFIED)
Driven by a sense of fulfillment when helping others, John Kennedy has led a life doing just that. John spent five years in the US Navy as a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer. During his time in the Navy, John had to have physical therapy for an injury and this led John down the path of becoming a Physical Therapist himself. On the road to becoming a Physical Therapist, John became a personal trainer in 2005 and worked in the fitness industry for 14 years. John even owned his own training facility for six years before he sold it to travel.
As a physical therapist at McMinnville’s Andrew Physical Therapy, John is passionate about helping others return to an active life after an injury. He believes that rehabilitation should not only be effective, but it should fun. You should leave therapy feeling accomplished and not down about your injury. John’s academic degrees and life experiences helps him understand the physical, emotional, and mental struggle a person may go through. John earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Sport Psychology in 2008, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2019. John also holds the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and is a USA Weightlifting Coach.
John is originally from Nashville, TN but now lives in McMinnville with his wife, son, and their dog. Prior to moving here, John and his family spent a year traveling the US in an RV visiting 23 states. His favorite destinations were the Grand Canyon in winter, Mt. Rushmore, and the Rocky Mountains. Now, he and his family are exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to discover.
